Kaunas Jonas Basanavicius gymnasium in Lithuania
Celebrates 108 YESS Business Basics Grads
KAUNAS, LITHUANIA--February 14, 2024--The Kaunas Jonas Basanavicius gymnasium (KJBG) made history today when 108 students from five classes were recognized for their successful completion of the 12-week YESS Business Basics course designed by ActionCOACH Foundation. Ruta Sidaugiene, the teacher of the five classes, was instrumental in facilitating the students through the online course with the support of the gymnasium director, Sandra Palsauskiene. Local ActionCOACHes and firm owners, Lina Glemžaitė Griciuvienė, Ermeta Mackevičienė and Mindaugas Juodaitis, initially brought the YESS Business Basics curriculum to the school three years ago and were all in attendance at the ceremony to support the new grads.
Palsauskiene, the Director of KJBG, welcomed the students to the assembly. Students were treated to several commencement addresses during the ceremony and learned more about the ActionCOACH business model. The graduates, all 15 to 16 years of age, each received a Certificate of Completion in honor of their accomplishments.
Five students were presented with special awards in three categories...Eimante Mickeviciute and Kotryna Sinkeviciute both took home Best Vision Board awards. Gytis Orzekauskas and Paulius Pazarauskas also tied in their category and both received Best Business Plan awards for their business concepts, Elite Estates Realty and ZenPet Retreats, respectively. Kamile Moceviciute won the Best Video Pitch award for her Pawfect Walks business.
The Kaunas Jonas Basanavicius gymnasium is looking for financial support locally so it can continue to bring the business mindset and management principles to future student classes. The cost of the program is $300 per student. Starting in 2024, the school will need to cover $100 of that cost per student, while the Foundation will pick up the balance. YESS Business Basics is a twelve-week, virtual course that serves as an introduction into ActionCOACH Foundation's YESS Young Entrepreneur Smart Start program. It is designed to instill the business principles of ActionCOACH Founder, Brad Sugars, into 12- to 22-year-olds, who receive the education for free. Each student must complete twelve weeks of videos, Action Assignments and weekly exams. In addition, they each submit vision boards, business plans and video business pitches.
YESS Business Basics has enrolled over 1,800 students all over the world since its launch in February of 2021. To date, over 400 students have graduated from the program, fifty percent of these coming from the Baltic States.
